Threaded Flanges – NPT Flanges – Screw Flanges
Thread flanges are commonly used in reducing connections, utilizing a female NPT thread to connect to male NPT threaded pipe. MS&M has a wide range of threaded flanges available, rated for different PSI and size requirements. Made in the USA, our threaded flanges are often used in the petrochemical industry or wastewater utilities.
What Are Threaded Flanges Advantages?
Threaded flanges are a great choice for an application which occasionally requires connecting and disconnecting. These flanges enable the joining of a male pipe end to the flange without the need for a weld connection, thereby facilitating easy assembly and disassembly. Having such a seal would defeat the primary benefit of a thread flange – easy assembly and disassembly.
In applications involving highly reactive or explosive media, threaded flange connections are often a requirement. This is particularly true when male NPT pipe connections are used, which is why NPT/threaded companion flanges are commonly employed in API oilfield services.
While less common than female center NPT threaded flange connections, the API 6A specification does allow for male thread flange connections.
